Sea Esta Camp & Lodge is a colourful, quirky retreat created by Waihi Beach locals Peter and Sandra McGregor. Just a two-minute stroll from the beach, Sea Esta blends bright Mexican-inspired style with the laid-back charm of a Kiwi beach getaway.

Once the Te Rau Aroha Christian Camp, it was transformed in 2019 into a vibrant space full of character –  from flowering bougainvillea and native trees to unique eclectic touches like unique garden art, wagon wheels and a classic Vanguard car slowly returning to the earth.

With accommodation for up to 114 guests, Sea Esta welcomes families, groups, retreats or anyone after a fun, relaxed escape. Options include cosy ensuite cabins, dorm-style rooms in the Main Camp, and self-contained lodge and chalet, all equipped with BBQs, outdoor furniture, and plenty of space to unwind.

Waihī Beach’s shops, cafes, and restaurants are just a short walk or drive away, making Sea Esta a perfect base to explore this beautiful coastal town. Whether it’s a family reunion, group retreat, or quiet getaway, Sea Esta invites you to relax, recharge, and enjoy the colourful vibe of the Bay.
